7 Steps to Time Management

The most successful people all have one thing in common. They know the true value of time management. They focus a lot of attention on being organized and efficient in all that they do. Good time management skills need to be developed just like any other habit. They take time and repetition to really sink in.

Many people believe that they are past the point of being able to develop strong time management skills. The truth is that it is never too late to form these good habits. Being able to get organized and manage time better can help alleviate stress in their daily lives, both at home and at work.

Like any good habit worth forming, if the incentive is great enough, then it can be done. Here are seven steps to time management that anyone can follow and build a good habit for a better balance.

1) Decide What You Want- What is the ultimate goal?

2) Write Down What You Want- Put that goal down on paper as a visual reminder.

3) Set a Deadline for Achieving the Goal- Know when that goal needs to be accomplished.

4) Make a List of Tasks to Accomplish to Meet the Goal- Decide what needs to be done to reach that goal.

5) Organize the List into a Plan- Prioritize tasks in the order of importance and start with the most important ones.

6) Take Action- Get to work on checking off all the tasks to reach the goal.

7) Do Something Every Day to Achieve the Goal- Take time each day to work towards that goal.

People who follow the seven-step formula find that they have more energy, less stress, and more time for the things they want to do in life and the people they want to spend time with.
