Why Is It Important to Form Your Own Master Mind Group?

master mind

Master Mind was defined by Napoleon Hill as the “coordination of knowledge and effort in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

Incorporating the idea of the Master Mind is an important part of turning future goals into accomplishments. You draw on all the knowledge available to you to formulate a plan to make those things happen. There are three sources of knowledge that you can utilize:
Experimentation and Personal Experience

Every day, we learn something. We collect, classify, and organize those things that we learn through trial and error and file them away into our subconscious minds so that we can pull it out as needed in the future.
Group Experience

This is the type of knowledge that we glean from school, our textbooks and teachers. It is the experiences of others that has been organized and classified for everyone’s use. This information can be found in books, libraries, classes, videos, and the Internet.
Infinite Intelligence

Infinite Intelligence, or the superconscious, is a vast network of all of the knowledge that has existed or will ever exist. This is the key to the Master Mind. Napoleon Hill states that plans are “inert and useless without sufficient power to translate them into action,” no matter how well thought out, and that power cannot be had without a person “availing himself of the ‘Master Mind’.”

There are two components of the Master Mind, one economic, the other psychic. These two elements are what makes it so important for people who are driven to succeed to be part of a Master Mind group.

Economic – People who choose to surround themselves with a group of like-minded individuals working together to assist one another in achieving goals, who take the counsel given to them and apply it diligently to their plans for success see greater economic advantages than those who choose to struggle on their own.
Psychic – Hill believes that the human mind is a form of energy, part of it being spiritual in nature. When multiple minds work together, each unit of energy in the mind forms an affinity, the psychic element of the Mastermind. This is similar to the way a chain of batteries provides more energy to the object it is powering. Putting together several like-minded individuals will give more thought-energy to every member of the group.

The Ideal Mastermind Group

To form your own Master Mind group, you first want to know how many people you want in your group. Should it be a small group of five, or a larger group of 50? Your group should be large enough that you have people injecting a wide range of skills and experience into your meetings, yet small enough that exchanging ideas among the group flows smoothly.

Choose how frequently you will meet and in what format. For example, you might decide that what is best for your group is for everyone to meet monthly via an online meeting site or teleconference. Each meeting could focus on one topic or challenge where each member brainstorms solutions and answers for those things.

Some of the most successful individuals in history believed in the idea of the Master Mind group, including Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford. By implementing the idea of a Master Mind, you can start creating more successful strategies for achieving goals and driving yourself further ahead, becoming the best version of yourself.
