What does it mean to be a business coach?

How we are different

A lot of people hear the term “business coach” and immediately align that person with consultants and life counselors. But this is really not the case. A coach plays a much different role on the business path of an entrepreneur.

What is the difference in Business Coaching?

The role of a business coach is to help the entrepreneur realize the expertise that lies within.

A business coach, not unlike a basketball or goal coach, uses their skills to help someone uncover their own potential. The coach works with the business owner to put together a strategy to develop and strengthen potential.

The right business coach combined with a forward thinking entrepreneur will facilitate the mind-space needed to move away from technical day-to-day operations and guides the business owner on the path to discovering all that they need to succeed.

A business coach is an outside observer who can help the individual identify their strengths. Once those strengths are known, the business owner or executive can utilize the coach to grow their brand, improve their team or simply work strategically.

Once long term strategy identified, the business coach will question choices that are made to determine if short-term tactics fir the end-game. Together coach and entrepreneur will look at Why? And, What If?

A coach is there to ask the right questions, give insight and help the owner to look at their business and all that could be possible with changes.

Skills are developed through interactions and practice, just like they would be on the football field.

It is not the job of the business coach to pass along all that they have learned and expect the business owner to duplicate those actions in order to succeed. The coach just draws out potential and encourages big picture thinking to make best decisions for the business.
