Overcoming Business Coach Challenges

As business coaches ramp up their business and get involved and engaged in their practice, we see three top three challenges that they have to deal with when they get started in the coaching business.

1. Client Acquisition

Client acquisition is often a challenge. How do I get clients? Where do I look? What’s in my skill base? What am I comfortable with? Where do I put my time and energy and my investment? It can be different for each coach, just like it’s different for each business.

Learning how to manage that effectively plays a big role. Why go down rabbit holes that are not going anywhere when they can turn to their own coach and say, “Here’s my skill set, here is what I have to bring to the table in terms of energy. I want to work 60 hours a week or I really want to be on the golf course four days a week. How do I do this on a limited basis?”

2. Learning the FocalPoint Intellectual Property

Another challenge that they face may be learning the intellectual property that FocalPoint brings to the table. Coaches need to have the familiarity and knowledge with the tools. Brian Tracy gives a number of pragmatic approaches to problem solving which can easily be taken out of the tool box from FocalPoint perspective as a coach going to businesses.

Our coaches do not have to reinvent the wheel every time they have a new client.  What are the options in terms of presenting solutions to business owners? The beauty of that is the coach and client get to pick and choose based on client needs.

3. Being Activity-Based

The third biggest challenge for someone starting a coaching practice can be just going out and doing it. Knowing the activity that needs to be done. Being activity-based.

Coaches do not just hang a shingle and wait for the phone to ring. It really is the business-building activity that brings it all together. Whether it’s gaining clients or administering to clients, what’s the activity that makes sense?

FocalPoint coaches have the benefit of a full system and support around them to meet these challenges.
